New Wave Art Exhibitions, in collaboration with artist printmaker Julie Leach, is presenting a live animated art projection of Julie's wind drawings and prints on to the ruins of White Ladies Priory near Wolverhampton on Tuesday 18 August 2020. The projection begins at 9 pm and people are welcome to attend at the Priory or view the live streaming on Instagram @newwavewv3.
The event developed after an exhibition that New Wave had curated at The Viner Gallery in Wolverhampton, had to close before it could even open because of the Coronavirus pandemic. New Wave has subsequently been finding ways to present the participating artists work in a different, accessible way.
White Ladies Priory is a 12th century ruin of a church and small nunnery of Augustinian canonesses. It is hoped that the projection of Julie's wind art on this scale with the addition of sound and in the semi-darkness of this incredible setting might promote an atmospheric and immersive experience.
